Welcome to my site.

Lately, I've been getting a bit annoyed with "classic" social media. A big part of it, I think, is the loss of control I've been experiencing. There's a number of things that come to mind - recommendation algorithms, the lack of customizability, the dopamine hits, etc.

For a long time, I've considered Tumblr my escape from all that, and it still kind of is. I used to visit my dashboard on my laptop, and while that was a bit inconvenient, it felt kinda special. In a way, I was purposefully making time to read posts, look up funny memes, keeping track of interesting information using a tagging system, and keeping in touch with friends.

But now, Tumblr just feels like another social media site you scroll through while pooping.

For this reason, I've been thinking about leaving for a while now, and voilĂ  - I stumbled upon a YouTube video talking about the Indie Web. I actually learnt HTML and CSS in school, so I'm not a stranger to web design, though I still need to get back in the groove. It's gonna take a while to set everything up, but I'm looking forward to it!
